VideaHealth Dental Software Receives FDA’s 510(k) Clearance
Boston, Mass.-based VideaHealth has received 510(k) clearance for its Videa Caries Assist, an artificial intelligence (AI) software application for detecting dental cavities.
In a clinical study, the radiograph image analysis software “instantly and significantly helped with the analysis of radiographs from the dentist’s chair,” the company said. The number of missed cavities was 43 percent lower for dentists using the Videa software.
VideaHealth, which was founded in 2018 based on AI research from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, plans to offer the product to leading dental service organizations.
