Onkos Surgical’s 3D Pelvic Reconstruction System Cleared
Parsippany, N.J.-based Onkos Surgical received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its My3D personalized pelvic reconstruction system.
The system features 3D-printed implants and instruments to treat deformity, trauma, disease and revisions where other treatments have failed, the company said.
The patient-specific implants can be used for reconstruction of the acetabulum — the cup-shaped socket of the hip bone —and for advanced reconstructions that span multiple regions of the pelvis.
Onkos Surgical CEO Patrick Treacy called the clearance “a major milestone” for the company which is focused on 3D planning and printing of products for treatment of complex orthopedic conditions.
