FDA Clears Conventus Flower Orthopedics Ulna Intramedullary Nail System
The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to Conventus Flower Orthopedics’ Flex-Thread Ulna Intramedullary Nail System, for fixation of fractures and osteotomies — surgery where bones are cut and reshaped — of the ulna.
The system is the company’s second to use its flex-thread technology platform, which allows the nail to flex as it is being inserted into the intramedullary canal inside the bone.
The ulna intramedullary nail will be offered in a wide range of diameters and lengths, the company said.
