AGA MEDICAL FILES SUIT IN GERMANY ALLEGING PATENT INFRINGEMENT
August 29, 2006
AGA Medical Aug. 28 announced it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against German firms Occlutech GmbH and DRABO Medizintechnik.
AGA is requesting damages against the two firms and their CEOs, as well as a permanent injunction to prevent them from infringing on AGA's Figulla occluder.
AGA owns a European patent issued in October 2005 and validated in Germany for intravascular occlusion devices -- which are used to treat structural heart defects -- and the method of forming or manufacturing these devices, the firm said.
