AUROBINDO'S CITALOPRAM ORAL SOLUTION WINS FDA APPROVAL

Aurobindo has announced that the FDA has approved its generic citalopram oral solution, 10 mg/5mL. The company already has approval of citalopram tablets of 10-, 20- and 40-mg strengths.
Citalopram belongs to a class of medication called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and is indicated in the treatment of depressive disorders. The drug is a generic equivalent of Forest Laboratories' Celexa.
Aurobindo has so far received 30 approvals and tentative approvals from the FDA, according to the company.
