BRISTOL-MYERS ISSUES NEW WARNING ON BLOOD-THINNER DRUG
Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. has added a black box warning to the label of its blood-thinner drug Coumadin for the risk of possible fatal bleeding, the Food and Drug Administration said Friday. Warfarin sodium, as the medicine is generically known, "can cause major or fatal bleeding," the revised warning says.
