$80M SETTLEMENT OVER DRUG OVERPAYMENTS DELAYED
An $80 million class-action settlement is being held up over a single objection by a Tennessee woman. Aventis Pharmaceuticals and Andrx Corporation agreed to pay the amount to settle allegations of a price-fixing scheme. Consumers who bought Cardizem C-D between January 1998 and January 2003 were eligible to be compensated. More than 76,000 people who overpaid for the blood pressure medication have been waiting for 14 months.
