N.J. COMPANY BUYS GENYX MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR $60 MILLION
C.R. Bard, a New Jersey company, said it is buying the assets of Genyx Medical, related to its implantable treatment for incontinence, for $60 million. Genyx Medical is headquartered in Aliso Viejo. It is privately held. The company has developed an implantable tissue-bulking agent -- called Uryx -- to treat incontinence in women. The product has received pre-market approval from the FDA. Bard said it anticipates Uryx to launch it in the first half of 2005.
