Medco Agrees to Buy Accredo Health for $2.2 Billion
Medco Health Solutions, the largest U.S. pharmacy-benefit manager, agreed to buy Accredo Health for about $2.2 billion to expand its administration of drugs for hard-to-treat diseases such as hemophilia. Accredo investors will get $22 in cash and 0.49107 of a Medco share for each of their Accredo shares, Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-based Medco said in a statement. The deal values Accredo at roughly $43.33 a share.
