Partnerships Pay Off for Millennium to Tune of $40 Million
Millennium Pharmaceuticals has landed about $40 million in licensing fees and milestone payments from collaborations with pharmaceutical giants GlaxoSmithKline Group (GSK) in London and Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development LLC in New Jersey. When Millennium transferred the central marketing authorization of blood-clot inhibitor drug Integrilin in Europe to GSK it triggered a milestone payment of $19.9 million, which Millennium says it expects to receive during the first quarter of 2005.
