Mediceo Holdings to Acquire Paltac for at Least 59 Billion Yen
Mediceo Holdings Co., Japan's largest drug wholesaler, said will acquire Paltac, a household products wholesaler, for at least 59 billion yen ($548 million) in stock and cash. Mediceo will pay 1.5 of a share for each Paltac share in the acquisition, set for Oct. 1. It will issue 45.35 million new shares for the transaction and may pay an additional cash amount. Mediceo shares closed at 1,302 yen on Friday. Mediceo will change its name to Mediceo Paltac Holdings after the acquisition.
