Agencourt Bioscience Garners $100 Million in Sale to Beckman
Agencourt Bioscience, a genomic sequencing company, will be sold to a California biomedical testing company in a deal worth at least $100 million in cash. Fullerton, Calif.-based Beckman Coulter announced that it would pay $100 million for Beverly, Mass.-based Agencourt, a 5-year-old a genomic sequencing company with about 75 employees, in a deal that should close by the end of May. Beckman Coulter would pay up to $40 million more through 2007, assuming Agencourt meets a number of product development and revenue milestones.
