PLIVA ENTERS NEW ACCORD TO SUPPLY DRUG TO PFIZER
Croatian pharmaceutical concern Pliva (PLV.xq.L: Quote, Profile, Research) has signed a new three-year agreement with Pfizer (PFE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) to supply its best-selling drug azithromycin in bulk, the company said on Monday. The patent protection for Pliva's antibiotic expires in the U.S. market in November, putting east Europe's largest drugmaker by sales under pressure to offset an expected sharp decline in royalty revenues.
