FDA APPROVES VALEANT'S ZELAPAR
June 16, 2006
Valeant Pharmaceuticals has reported that the FDA approved its Parkinson's disease drug Zelapar for use with other treatments.
The agency approved once-a-day Zelapar to be used with Parkinson's treatments levodopa and carbidopa. Zelapar tablets dissolve in the mouth to deliver more of the active drug at a smaller dose, the company said.
Valeant received an "approvable" letter for the drug in October 2005, but needed to submit additional data to the agency.
