Industry Pushes for Expedited Entry With Voluntary Importer Certification

Medical device importers that undergo voluntary U.S. Customs certification should get expedited entry of their products into the U.S., AdvaMed says. The industry association is urging the FDA to adopt the Qualified Trusted Importer Program proposed by Pfizer on behalf of Abbott Laboratories, Merck and Novartis. AdvaMed submitted its comments in response to the FDA’s recent draft guidance on good importer practices.
