Roche Notifies Customers of Faulty Lancets

June 3, 2009
Roche Diagnostics has instructed its customers to avoid using certain lots of its ACCU-CHEK Softclix 10- and 17- count lancets for the treatment of diabetes. Some of the devices are missing caps, which may cause an accidental needle stick. Roche, along with the FDA, requests that customers inspect the bags containing the lancets and avoid opening them if the caps are missing. Customers should dispose of the faulty devices properly and contact the company for replacements, the FDA says in a statement.
