FDA Withdraws Rule on Internal Research Misconduct Investigations

The FDA is withdrawing a direct final rule that exempted it from disclosing certain scientific research misconduct records on FDA staff or someone working on behalf of the agency. The rule was intended to protect the identity of confidential sources in misconduct investigations in light of a new FDA system called FDA Records Related to Research Misconduct Proceedings.
