Australian health experts argue that the country’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme needs to take its own advice where cholesterol-lowering drugs such as atorvastatin and simvastatin are concerned. Neighboring countries such as New Zealand have negotiated the prices of these drugs down as generics have become available, but Australia has yet to do this, they say.
