Acetaminophen Linked to Rare Fatal Skin Reactions, FDA Says

The FDA has warned the public that acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, may cause fatal skin rashes and blisters such as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis. The agency based its warning on new adverse event information, although officials say that such cases occur “only rarely.”
