Device Tax: Does Decline in Internet Activity Signal Growing Acceptance?

Efforts to repeal the 2.3 percent medical device excise tax remain active even while internet trends show diminished interest in the issue, industry sources say. Google Trends data, which tracks how often terms are searched, shows that searches on the term “medical device tax” peaked in December 2012. The Internal Revenue Service issued its final rule on the tax on Dec. 7.
