FDA Approves GSK’s QIV; Opens Pediatric Indication Flu Vaccines

August 26, 2013
For the second time in as many months, the FDA has approved a GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) intramuscular quadrivalent influenza vaccine, sanctioning the drugmaker’s FluLaval Quadrivalent. The flu virus vaccine is licensed for patients three years and older. The vaccine offers protection from influenza virus subtypes A and B, GSK said Aug. 16. It also improves upon a three-strain version of FluLaval that was previously limited to individuals 18 years and older.
