Henry Schein Medical to Distribute Cepheid’s GeneXpert System

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Cepheid has reached an agreement with Henry Schein Medical to distribute Cepheid’s GeneXpert System and menu of 17 Xpert tests in the U.S.

Henry Schein will market the system to its non-acute care laboratory customers, including physician-office laboratories, women's health and large multispecialty clinics and urgent care facilities.

The GeneXpert System is a molecular diagnostics instrument, with more than 9,200 systems in 182 countries, according to Cepheid.

Henry Schein also will distribute Cepheid's CLIA-waived products for the GeneXpert Omni when they become available in late 2016. — Michael Cipriano
