Theragenics Acquires Eckert & Ziegler Seed Business

Theragenics has scooped up the U.S. and Canadian seed business of radiotherapy products provider Eckert & Ziegler BEBIG for an undisclosed sum.

The transaction will help Theragenics — a medical device company focused on cancer treatment and surgical products — to improve its work on prostate brachytherapy.

Theragenics has acquired the U.S. and Canadian customers of EZB, the U.S. and Canadian rights to the AnchorSeed, VariStrand and related seed products, as well as the rights to the SeedLock Needle product. — Michael Cipriano
