SpectraScience Acquires Oncoscope’s Assets

San Diego, Calif.-based SpectraScience has acquired the assets of Oncosope.

Oncoscope has developed an optical imaging system that automatically detects precancerous epithelial tissues with a scattering white light. Barrett’s esophagus was Oncoscope’s first primary indication. 

“Oncoscope's focus on a diagnostic for Barrett's esophagus will shorten the development time for a commercial product to address this indication,” said Michael Oliver, president and CEO of SpectraScience.
