Genisphere, University of Pennsylvania Enter Collaborative Agreement

Hatfield, Pa.-based Genisphere has entered a collaborative agreement with the University of Pennsylvania to research photodynamic therapy in cancer.

PDT is an additional treatment option for surgery that eliminates residual cancer through selective photosensitizer accumulation.

The therapy is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2 study for the treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma. — Anisa Jibrell
