Pharmacies, Distributors Seek Injunction Against Cherokee Nation Opioids Suit

Major pharmacy groups and drug distributors are seeking to block a lawsuit by the Cherokee Nation faulting them for the opioid crisis.
The Cherokee tribal council argued CVS, Walgreens, McKesson Corp, Cardinal Health and AmerisourceBergen are responsible for the addition epidemic, but the companies argued the conduct in question did not occur in Cherokee Nation territory.
The companies are seeking a preliminary injunction against the tribal court lawsuit in Oklahoma federal court.
