Valsartan Lawsuit Targets One Distributor, Two Pharmacies

August 29, 2018

A New York couple filed a class-action lawsuit against a distributor and two dispensers of valsartan products, claiming they were exposed to carcinogenic materials.

In the lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of New York, Elizabeth and John Duffy, who were both  prescribed the drug for high blood pressure, named Prinston Pharmaceutical (doing business as Solco Healthcare), Walgreens and Throggs Neck Pharmacy, a local pharmacy in Bronx, N.Y.

They claim the companies distributed and sold valsartan products recalled in July and August for contamination with N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a known carcinogen, and allege the contamination could have dated back to 2012.
