Varian Enters Heart Radioablation Market

Varian Medical has acquired CyberHeart, a device company that focuses on the development of cardiac radioablation technology for minimally invasive, outpatient treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

The technology has not yet received the greenlight from the FDA, but Varian is seeking a foot in the door for the potential future market for cardiac radioablation devices.

Despite the lack of FDA approval, Varian said the results of recent early studies” are promising enough to warrant investment in this area.”
