Pathofinder Launches Second COVID-19 Test

Pathofinder has earned a CE mark for its second coronavirus diagnostic, the RealAccurate Quadruplex SARS-CoV-2 PCR kit.

The test detects viral RNA and two coronavirus genes from nasopharyngeal swabs, providing “sensitive detection and confirmation of positive results at once,” the company said.

The Quadruplex test runs on five of the most common real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) detection instruments — Roche’s LightCycler480 II, Qiagen’s Rotor-Gene Q, Bristol-Myers Squibb’s MIC qPCR Cycler, Biorad’s CFX96 and Thermo Fisher’s Quantstudio 5.
