IlluminOss’ Bone Stabilization System Gets Additional FDA Clearance
August 20, 2020
The FDA has cleared IlluminOss Medical’s photodynamic bone stabilization system for use in treating fibula fractures.
The device repairs and stabilizes fractures using a liquid contained within an expandable balloon to create a patient-conforming implant inside the bone canal.
The system previously received FDA clearance for treating other bone fractures, including in the humerus, radius, ulna, clavicle, pelvis, metacarpals, metatarsals and phalanges.
