Tela Bio Picks New Clinical Development Executive

Pennsylvania-based bioscaffold developer Tela Bio has appointed Bruce Freedman as its new vice president of clinical development.

The company, which focuses on medical technologies for soft-tissue reconstruction, chose Freedman based on his 32 years of experience as a general surgeon specializing in hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction, including with the company’s OviTex reinforced-tissue surgical mesh.

In his new role, Freedman will act as an advocate for the company’s natural hernia-repair mesh as an alternative to permanent and resorbable synthetic mesh.
