Seegene Earns CE Mark for Combo Swab for COVID-19 Diagnostics

South Korean diagnostics company Seegene has received CE mark certification for its Combo Swab, a self-collection device used with its COVID-19 diagnostic assays.

Users of the Combo Swab can collect their own specimen by swabbing their mouth and nose without discomfort, in contrast with swabs that must be inserted deeply into the nasopharynx, the company said.  

Seegene describes the CE-marked product as “a user-friendly swab designed for efficient specimen collection at scale,” enabling patients to easily collect specimens under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
