ResApp Gets CE Mark for Cough Counter Smartphone App

Brisbane, Australia-based ResApp Health has received a CE mark for its standalone cough counter smartphone application.

The application uses machine learning algorithms to accurately identify cough events from audio recorded using a smartphone’s built-in microphone.

The app, which measures the frequency of the user’s coughs, is already being used by AstraZeneca to monitor patients participating in a lung cancer clinical trial and an asthma management support program, ResApp said.
