Iterative Scopes Gets CE Mark for Its Skout Colorectal Polyps Detector

Iterative Scopes has received CE mark certification for Skout, its artificial intelligence (AI) software for detecting colorectal polyps during colonoscopy examinations.

Using AI-enabled computer vision, Skout identifies suspicious tissue and provides real-time feedback to gastroenterologists. In clinical studies sponsored by the company, Skout has been been shown to find more adenomas per colonoscopy when compared to existing screening methods.

The CE mark is the product’s first regulatory certification and will enable its distribution and marketing in Europe, a key step in the Cambridge, Mass.-based company’s global expansion plans.
