Getinge Recalls Its Sevoflurane Vaporizers for Anesthesia
December 14, 2021
Getinge has announced a global recall of some of its Sevoflurane vaporizers for its Flow Family anesthesia machines.
The Gothenburg, Sweden-based company said it has received eight complaints of an unidentified yellow substance found inside the vaporizers, which are used to deliver an inhaled anesthetic for induction and maintenance of general anesthesia.
No patient or operator adverse events have been reported in any of the complaints, the company said, adding that it will provide an update once the root cause of the contamination is identified.
