Nonprofit Asks Court to Require FDA Release of Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Files

A nonprofit group that sued the FDA to release all documents relating to the agency’s approval of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine argued its case in a federal court yesterday.

In the hearing before Judge Mark Pittman of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency urged the court to require the FDA to release hundreds of thousands of pages.

The group argued that, under the FDA’s current release schedule in response to a Freedom of Information Request, it could be many decades before all the information is made publicly available.
