Mah Sing Healthcare’s Nitrile Chemo Gloves Cleared

Malaysian company Mah Sing Healthcare has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its nitrile gloves for use with chemotherapy drugs.

The nitrile chemo-grade gloves are an alternative for healthcare providers who are allergic to latex. Nitrile is highly resistant to chemicals and it prevents penetration of chemo drugs that may accidentally expose the healthcare workers.

To support its application for marketing clearance, the company tested the gloves as protection against 11 chemotherapy drugs.

The chemotherapy exam-grade gloves are nonsterile and should be used for nonsurgical applications and procedures, the company said.
