MedMira Gains CE mark for Its Syphilis Test

MedMira’s Reveal TP (Syphilis) test has received CE mark certification and is now being marketed in Europe. TP is an abbreviation for Treponema pallidum, the pathogen that causes syphilis.

Despite the world’s current focus on the COVID-19 situation, “other diseases do not take a break,” noted MedMira’s CEO Hermes Chan. The firm also offers tests for influenza A and B, HIV and hepatitis C.

The Nova Scotia, Canada-based company is also planning clinical trials for the syphilis test, scheduled to begin in Canada this spring.
