Fujifilm Acquires Shenandoah Biotechnology

March 24, 2022

Fujifilm Irvine Scientific is acquiring Shenandoah Biotechnology, a Warminster, Pa.-based manufacturer of recombinant proteins.

The Fujifilm subsidiary, which produces cell culture media for use in life science research, bioproduction and cell therapy manufacturing, said the acquisition will provide its customers “a single point of access” for cell cultures for biopharmaceuticals and cell and gene therapies,” and will help smooth “the transition of biological therapies from preclinical to clinical phases.”

The financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close later this month.
