Life Spine Gets Additional 510(k) Clearance for its Sacroiliac Joint-Fixation System

Life Spine has received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance for its SImpact sacroiliac joint-fixation system for use in posterior-oblique surgical procedures.

The system was previously cleared for use in direct lateral procedures, but the new clearance lets physicians use either approach to suit the patient’s anatomy and pathology, the Huntley, Ill.-based company said.

The system includes a variety of self-drilling screw configurations and instrumentation that can be used for either surgical approach, the company said.
