FDA Seeks Interns for Medical Device Reviews

The FDA is seeking up to five interns to work in the Office of Product Evaluation and Quality at the Center for Devices and Radiological Health.

The unpaid interns may work on getting and reviewing technical literature or data to determine the safety, efficacy and degree of risk to the public health of devices, the agency said.

Other duties of the temporary positions may include assisting senior reviewers in obtaining and reviewing technical data and material related to device submissions under the premarket approval, 510(k) clearances and investigational device exemptions for clinical trials, the agency said.

They may also perform literature searches for senior scientists and prepare summaries or assist in preparing correspondence regarding informal inquiries about various types of devices.
