GE Healthcare Receives FDA’s Premarket Approval for Anesthesia Software

April 7, 2022

GE Healthcare has received the FDA’s premarket approval for its End-tidal (Et) Control software for general anesthesia delivery on its Aisys CS2 anesthesia delivery system.

The Et Control software semi-automates the delivery of anesthesia, allowing anesthesiologists to set targets for end-tidal oxygen — the measured concentration of oxygen in expired breath — and anesthetic agents.

The software’s benefits include improved accuracy of anesthesia delivery, simplified workflows and reduced drug waste, GE Healthcare said.

The company said it plans to launch the Aisys CS2 system with Et Control in the U.S in the coming months.
