NICE Recommends NanoVibronix’s UroShield

The UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has recommended NanoVibronix’s UroShield surface acoustic wave portable ultrasonic therapeutic device for use by the National Health Service.

NICE said the device could provide significant patient and healthcare system benefits in preventing catheter-associated urinary tract infections (UTIs). The agency’s cost analysis indicated that UroShield may save money for hospitals and community care facilities that treat people with repeated UTIs or catheter blockages.

NICE called for further UK-based research to confirm the positive results compiled so far for people with long-term catheters and to determine whether people with short-term catheters would benefit from using the device.
