Study Reveals Pharmaceutical Companies’ Reputations Improved Due to COVID-19

April 27, 2022

The public image of drugmakers has improved significantly during the pandemic, according to the latest annual survey by PatientView, a UK-based research and consulting firm.

The study, which included responses from 2,150 patient advocacy groups about the corporate reputations of 47 companies, found that 59 percent of respondents give “excellent” or “good” ratings in 2021 — the highest rating ever in the study, which began in 2011.

The pharmaceutical industry was “very effective” or “effective” at providing support to patients during the pandemic, 76 percent of respondents said — an increase from 61 percent in 2020.

However, only 13 percent of respondents said they think drug pricing policies are fair.
