Pathonostics Awarded CE-IVD Mark for Fungal Skin Infection Diagnostic

April 28, 2022

Pathonostics has received a CE-IVD mark for its DermaGenius 3.0 multiplex polymerase chain-reaction (PCR) kit, the latest version of the company’s in vitro diagnostic test.

The test kit can detect up to 95 percent of clinically relevant dermatophytes — fungi that can cause superficial infections of the skin — the Netherlands-based company said.

In addition to other pathogens that the earlier models of the device could detect, the new model can identify several additional fungal infections, including Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, Candida parapsilosis and Nannizia gypsea, the company said.
