Qiagen Gets CE-IVD Mark for Its NeuMoDx HSV 1/2 Quant Assay

Qiagen’s NeuMoDx HSV 1/2 Quant assay for detecting herpes simplex virus (HSV) types 1 and 2 has earned a CE-IVD mark.

The assay makes use of Qiagen’s automated, three-step system to extract DNA from blood or urine to isolate the target nucleic acids and then conduct a real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test to target sequences in the HSV genome.

The CE-IVD mark certification covers the assay’s use on the company’s NeuMoDx Integrated PCR system.

Qiagen said it plans to expand the menu of tests available for use on its NeuMoDx systems. The company has secured 15 CE-IVD marks for its tests so far.
