China’s Jiangsu Bioperfectus Technologies Gets CE Mark for Monkeypox Test Kit

China-based Jiangsu Bioperfectus Technologies has received a CE mark for its onkeypox Virus real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) kit.

The PCR kit includes specific primers and probes based on monkeypox virus genes, as well as a “housekeeping” gene, RNase P, as a control for specimen sampling.

Usually limited to Africa, monkeypox infections have been reported in 16 countries in Europe, North America and Australia in recent weeks.

Two other Chinese companies, Sansure Biotech and Wondfo Biotech, have also recently earned CE marks for monkeypox test kits.
