Flow-FX’s ‘Laglock’ Enhancement to Its Fracture Fixation System Cleared

June 17, 2022

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to Mokena, Ill.-based orthopedic device company Flow-FX for an addition to its Flow-Nail hip fracture fixation system.

The patent pending Flow-Nail with Laglock system includes a static locking mechanism that maintains the implant’s static strength characteristics while providing additional axial strength.

In testing carried out ahead of the 510(k) submission, the Laglock did not slip or fail, and achieved maximum axial load of 440 pounds, the company said.
