PH&S Products Awarded FDA Clearance for Fentanyl and Heroin Resistant Gloves

PH&S Products has received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance for its single-use, examination-grade gloves for protection against fentanyl, heroin and gastric acid.

The clearance covers two of the Minerva, Ohio-based company’s product lines: the Get-A-Grip two-tone, powder-free, nitrile gloves, which have a diamond grip pattern, and the Intercept Free, powder-free, two-tone, accelerator-free nitrile gloves.

Testing showed that fentanyl, heroin and gastric acid did not permeate the gloves during up to 240 minutes of exposure, the company said, adding that exposure to as little as 2 mg of fentanyl can cause negative health effects including trouble breathing, dizziness, and possible overdose.
