J&J Vision’s Acuvue Oasys Contact Lenses Cleared

Johnson & Johnson Vision has received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance, as well as Health Canada approval, for its contact lenses Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day and Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day Multifocal.

The contact lenses are intended to help people who work long hours with digital devices, according to the Jacksonville, Fla.-based subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson MedTech.

The devices, which are designed to provide corrected visions for various needs, available in spherical and multifocal versions.

The company plans to launch the new lenses in the U.S. and Canada in the autumn. It has also applied for CE marks for the lenses in Europe.
